Eats Restaurant
A full redesign of the Eats website coincided with the release of six commercials, which positioned Eats as irreverent, innovative and edgy. These pre-existing qualities of the restaurant are belied by Eats’ comfortable, no-frills environment and classic menu. In that spirit, the design combines tattoo art and country burlap textures with modern silhouettes, topped with a classic newspaper flag. The result is a haphazard eclectic Southern style that manages to cohere into something charming.
(One of the series of ads I helped produce with Newmerica. Yes, I'm the gal.)
Since the site is built on a content management system, employees can easily update prices and specials to reflect current offerings. Moreover, to communicate with customers and reinforce Eats' non-corporate personal service, the site encourages conversation on facebook and twitter. Through social channels, Eats can offer coupons and promotions at certain times of day.
To position Eats as a mainstay with the credentials to attest to its quality, a media section showcases videos and photos to corroborate word-of-mouth-marketing. Press reviews are published alongside myriad “Best Of” awards. In short, the media captures the restaurant’s image while strategic copy increases the site's visibility to search engines and humans alike.
